We came upon this place quite by accident and we were glad we did! The food and service were excellent. It has a real neighborhood feel, friendly and welcoming. The wait staff was attentive and pleasant. Since this was lunch, my husband had the special pulled-pork sandwich with cole slaw. Nothing fancy or unusual, but a good solid sandwich, tasty and well presented. I had the Pesto Chicken Wrap with spinach, on a tomato basil wrap, and cole slaw, for $8.95. Check my photos. The wrap was filled with perfectly cooked chunks of chicken and the spinach was an added bonus. Portion size was perfect and the prices were reasonable. We will return and next time for dinner! We understand they have entertainment on certain nights. Check their schedule for live music.

I noticed that the only mediocre reviews are both from Manhattan. That told me that the place was probably pretty good, because New Yorkers complain about everything. And I was right. The food was great. My wife had the lobster roll and loved it. I had the fish and chips. The cod was perfectly breaded and cooked to perfection. The french fries were the best I have ever eaten. Homemade coleslaw was excellent. To top it off the server was friendly and efficient, she actually enjoyed her job. On the way out, we met the owner. She and her husband are partners in the business and one of them is always there.

They should knickname this place fresh. Like fresh tasting. The mahi taco was good but ask for the mango salsa to make it great. The pesto chicken wrap was delicious perfect with spinach and pesto to compliment the chicken

Taste is my favorite restaurant in Hobe Sound. The food is amazing (so good I have had them cater) and the staff is very friendly. If you are from New England you will probably meet a few friends as this is a popular location for Red Sox, Pats, Celtics and Bruins fans. I have even spotted Bobby Orr on occasion! Now with a full liquor license and larger bar it is even better!

We headed here with a big group last Friday to celebrate an 80th birthday. There may not be many places that could satisfy a group ranging in age from 24 to 90, but this place held up to the challenge pretty well. We had an early reservation, and a nice, long table was waiting for us in the outdoor seating area when we all arrived. While the inside is decorated in a more upscale way, the outside has more of a casual bar feel to it (may have been due to the beer umbrellas and tiki bar). The patio was screened in, and there were some nice plants and lighting in the screened in area. I ordered the Mahi mahi with mango salsa, which was good, though not great (fish cooked well, but salsa way too hot). The mashed potato and grilled veggie sides were delicious. We had quite a few appetizers, and most were good, though none struck me as particularly outstanding.

New to the Hobe Sound area thanks to work expansion, I've had the opportunity to try a few local restaurants. Very pleased with this place. Salad are fresh and easily upgraded with shrimp, fish or chicken. Highly recommend the spinach dip; the chips are homemade and the perfect balance of crunchy and doughy. The escargot was surprisingly good and the key lime pie was well worth it! Enjoy the outdoor patio area!!

Tucked in a cozy little spot on SE Dixie Highway and Bridge Road, the restaurant Taste has a friendly, upbeat atmosphere and an eclectic menu. Dined there last week with a friend and both agreed we would be back. Hungry for a well prepared and portioned dinner - well there's something for everyone: almond crusted yellow tail snapper ($21.95) served with brown butter sauce or Francaise style, or old-fashioned meatloaf smothered with brown sauce ($14.95), this is the place. Sides are included with dinners - veggies (fresh zucchini, squash and sugar snap peas) or starch (sweet potato, mashed, fries). Both of us ordered the Mahi Mahi ($17.95) grilled and served with mango salsa. We were extremely pleased with the preparation. Starters were appealing and featured a few changes from regular fare including fried green tomatoes ($6.95), escargot ($7.95) baked with freshly fried tortilla chips, and bang bang shrimp ($8.95) lightly breaded and fried served with a sweet chili sauce. Nice salad offerings featured a Savannaugh Gorgonzola House Specialty ($7.95) with apples, walnuts, cranberries, gorgonzola and house made balsamic dressing as well as the usual suspects (Caprese, wedge, spinach and Caesar). English style fish and chips ($14.95) ordered at a table close by looked appealing and the shepherds pie ($14.95) featured lamb, veggies, fresh herbs & spices topped with mashed potatoes. A Maine lobster roll ($15.95) is served with french fries or for $1 more, sweet potato fries. Burgers, pulled pork, Philly cheese steak are included in the sandwich menu. Homemade soups and desserts are offered as well. Get the idea? It's a fun, friendly and reasonably priced place to go for well-prepared dishes by people who care about their customers. No downside to that! In fact, took menu home with me to study before I return for another lovely excursion to Taste. Try it.....

Great Florida-casual dining. A somewhat limited but interesting menu. Excellent recipe and food preparation. (Usually never have dessert, but was seduced by the Key lime coconut cake. Wow). Friendly and reasonably attentive server. Kind of a 1950s Florida ambiance which gives Taste a neighborly and highly repeatable place to dine.

Food was excellent! The wait staff very attentive! The English fish and chips was perfect, as was the bow tie pasta. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

I was disappointed in a lot of what we ordered. Bang Bang shrimp were ok (appetizer) Muscles were so/so, but the broth was good Bruschetta was awful. A soggy mess. Bread was not at all crisp. Lobster roll was very good Portabello mushroom burger was good Yellow snapper tasted like paper The staff were friendly and nice. Our waitress was ADORABLE and did a great job.

I wandered in here for a business meeting during a casual weekday. I came a bit early and the waitress was somewhat rude when I asked if I could not place any orders until my client arrived. I'm pretty sure she watched my client walk in, but chose to ignore us for 5 minutes while helping the only other table. Not sure what the deal was. Otherwise, the food is excellent. Recommend the crab cakes and my client was pleased with the Gorgonzola salad - just watch out for the service at lunch hour.

For what it is, yes, five stars. One of the best meals I've had out in a long time. Interesting menu got me to venture out beyond my comfort zone & our waitress, Rebecca, was just the right amount of friendly & helpful. Great experience, we'll be back.

Very tasty dinner. The scallop special was very nicely cooked, with a lemon beurre blanc and balsamic vinegar sauce. The mahi mahi was exceptionally good. If you go, don't plan on staying a long time - the chairs are excruciatingly uncomfortable. Service was friendly and not overbearing. The decor was minimal, with lots of price tags still attached to the decorations, so don't expect anything fancy. All in all, a reasonably priced, family-friendly, informal spot for a nice meal.

Just as a note, they've changed their name to 'Taste: Casual Dining' so don't be concerned if you get there and it's not the same as the name here. This restaurant was excellent. The service was a little slow, but the people there were so nice that it made up for it. The food was outstanding! Recommended foods are the apple salad and the quesadilla. The interior ambience exceeds your expectations based on the exterior appearance. Very highly recommended if you like kind people, great food, nice setting, and somewhat reasonable prices.

Great place for lunch. The savanna salad is delish. My favorite is the lobster roll on a salad. Pricey at $15 but they don't skimp on the lobster. Service is generally slow. One particular female server is flat out rude.

Popular local place of which there are not many in Hobe Sound. Best enjoyed at lunch for their salads. The food is not exceptional but the atmosphere quaint and the covered patio dining pleasant. Large bar that serves beer and wine. Popular 5 oclock stop for the local residents. Service definitely varies and when busy can be less than desired. Not a place to rush in and eat.

I think its actually Taste, a Culinary Adventure, but hey - who's counting? I love this little place. There are relatively few decent places in Hobe Sound, and Taste, while its gone through a couple of owners (maybe on the third set), has a good location (A1A and Bridge Road), good food and a decent little bar to boot. Haven't had a bad meal - everything I've had has been good, and reasonably priced. If there's a criticism, its that the service is sometimes a bit... disorganized. The kitchen generally seems to keep up, but for a place this small I'd hope the service would be a little better. But don't let that stop you, especially during these beautiful winter months when you can sit on the screened patio and just chill. Hit our beautiful Public beach or the US Fish & Wildlife beach (both within a mile drive), and try Taste afterwards for a frosty brew and meet the locals...
